The Mental Health First Aid Program, is an Australian initiative that provides instructor training and resource development that is evidence-based. The instructors are trained for a fee to organise and deliver their own courses, either for their employing organisation or sometimes as part of their own private business. The courses teaches adults and youth how to recognise when someone is becoming mentally unwell (for the first time) or relapsing from a mental illness and how to offer initial support before a mental health professional is able to intervene.
